Look-Ahead 3D DFN Model

The look-ahead 3D DFN module generates forward-looking fracture network models ahead of the excavation face for design-ready excavation planning and risk mitigation.

Using inversion, Bayesian inference, and machine-learning–based modeling, it constructs constrained DFN volumes that highlight high-fracture zones, water-bearing features, and potential weak blocks.

Solving Industry Limitations

  • Conventional DFN models are often poorly constrained by local mapping, leading to large uncertainty in fracture conditions ahead of the face.
  • Hazard zones such as water-bearing structures or weak wedges are only discovered at the face, forcing reactive rather than proactive mitigation.
  • Support and excavation designs are difficult to optimise without a volumetric view of fracture networks around the opening.
